                           RESOLUTION NO.   20012  
              
              A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO MAKE 
              APPLICATION TO THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF 
              JUSTICE, BUREAU OF JUSTICE ASSISTANCE IN RESPONSE 
              TO THE POLICE HIRING SUPPLEMENT PROGRAM FOR FUNDS 
              NOT TO EXCEED ONE MILLION TWO HUNDRED SEVENTY-FIVE 
              THOUSAND AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($1,275,00.00) AND TO 
              EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS PERTINENT THERETO.

                 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 
        CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, that the Mayor be and is hereby 
        authorized to apply to the U. S. Department of Justice, Bureau 
        of Justice Assistance, in response to the police hiring 
        supplement program for funds not to exceed $1,275,000.00 and to 
        execute all documents pertinent thereto.
